Iscros – The Western Part of This Massive Eastern Kingdom

The Western part of the Kingdom of Iscros

Iscros is the oldest human kingdom on the Northern Continent.

When humans first arrived on the continent’s eastern shores by ship, they were cautious. They settled initially along the verdant eastern coastline, which later became the elven kingdom as humans became a minority in those northeastern regions. The north was barren, with rugged mountain ranges and uninhabitable tundra, while the south had even larger, more formidable mountain ranges.

Thus, humans ventured westward, finding themselves just below the tundra in a wide horizontal mountain range called Mount Kevarl. This mountain range separated the perilous tundra from the greener regions. Together with the Dvuongorings, they began mining in Mount Kevarl and constructing magnificent fortresses and durable watchtowers. Thousands of years later, many of these ancient structures remain functional. To cross the large northern river flowing southward into Iscros’ capital city on the southern coast, they needed great skill and strategic ingenuity. The Dvuongorings assisted in building a grand bridge and a watchtower at Iscros’ northern border, where the Kevarl mountains end to the west.

For a long time, this land served as a diplomatic kingdom, maintaining relations with the later western human kingdoms, the elves living in the southeastern mountains, the Dvuongorings, and the Northern Dwarves. Two key trade routes passed through Iscros, one of which included an underground passage shared with the Kingdom of Mindoros. Additionally, a crucial trade route ran southward across a large island, traversing the Northern Continent.

At some point, disputes arose between Iscros and the “Three Western Crests” alliance, which included all the major human kingdoms west of Iscros. Tensions had been brewing for a long time, especially as the northern barbarians raided and plundered Iscros without assistance from the three other kingdoms to subdue the barbarians.

Thus began the war between Iscros and the Western kingdoms, a conflict that persists to this day. A major trade route was closed, and military outposts were built on the island between Mindoros and Iscros. These two nations engaged in continuous minor or major conflicts, with the largest battles fought on that island.
