The Barren Region of Wescros

Known as the “Crossroads,” Wescros lay at the junction of three major western human kingdoms, forming a Y-shaped trade route to all three lands. The region was rich in vast, seemingly endless coniferous forests interspersed with massive 50-meter-tall alder trees. Around the rivers flowing from the northern mountains, green mounds and rocky formations dotted the landscape, eventually merging into a large river that disappeared into the southern mountains.
Wescros was home to many ancient remnants, with ruins that adventurous explorers could find hidden deep within the forests. The land bore strange, ancient structures that were neither human-made nor the work of the Dvuongorings. One of these was the Ice Pyramid, a symmetrical, stone-crafted monument with a polished surface, standing fifty feet tall with a flat top.
Despite its lush forests and many lakes, Wescros was not an ideal place to live. One major reason was its proximity to the headquarters of the Northern Shaman. Located northeast on the tundra-bound “Dead End” road—whose original purpose remains unknown—the shaman and his infamous Northern Barbarians held court near a large mountain’s western edge, deep within the forest. From there, they could launch ambushes on the Kingdom of Nuwars or target the small mountain clusters along the northern coast, which served as a trade ship route to the glacier.
